I push back on the idea that using open models is morally equivalent to how the frontier companies trained them. The genie's out, and opting out entirely means accepting that your supply chain already uses AI anyway.

I consider many people on the Fediverse to be my tribe, and they largely reject AI. I think they have it wrong.
