You will have to excuse me if I'm skeptical. Not only of the researcher's claims but whether or not this is actually a false flag situation where these companies want everyone to take them more seriously. They're trying to avoid the bubble popping.

@michaelharley If I realized that something I was doing had more than a 10% chance of wiping out humanity, I’d be pretty dump not to stop doing it.
@michaelharley sometimes it feels like it’s all marketing. Last time they said the world was going to end because of Fable and we’re all still here. LLMs will not be the end of humanity.
