      "content_html": "<blockquote>\n<p>Welp. My Forgejo instance got popped with an RCE two days ago by CVE-2026-60004. Luckily, I noticed the following morning and had the day free to figure out what happened. Let's dive in!</p>\n</blockquote>\n<p>As a homelab enthusiast, I found this a very interesting post. Here are my take aways from the post that I'm implementing myself:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Miner detection.</strong> I've updated monitoring rules to now watch the CPU on my hosts. If the same thing happened to me I would not have been alerted at all as I'm doing simple up / down monitoring. Fixed.</li>\n<li><strong>Access logging.</strong> I turned on access logging for my homelab Caddy instances.</li>\n<li><strong>Log retention.</strong> I have increased the amount and retention of my logging. The hope is this will help me reconstruct what happened after a breach.</li>\n<li><strong>Logs offsite.</strong> The VPS access logs now ride along with the normal backup process, which runs hourly. The homelab side still only gets caught by the weekly VM backup, so that's next.</li>\n<li><strong>Closed an open signup.</strong> My webtrees instance (genealogy) had self registration enabled, which is the same door this guy got hit through. Oops.       "content_html": "<p>Like any good IndieWeb nerd, I post my reviews on my website first, then syndicate those to all the places.</p>\n<p><a href=\"https://justincox.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin</a> is someone I follow, and we both use our websites in pretty similar ways, with goals that seem to line up. I noticed that we both reviewed Silo S3 and syndicated both of our posts to Mastodon. Here is <a href=\"https://social.lol/@justincox/117226801316872849\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his</a> and here is <a href=\"https://infosec.exchange/@michaelharley/117215337326358270\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mine</a>. Our hashtags do not connect. Two people doing the very same thing, on the very same show, do not connect to each other with hashtags. That doesn't seem right in my mind.</p>\n<p>This led me down a rabbit hole of trying to do analytics on which hashtags connect with the people I'm trying to connect with. I wish the IndieWeb wiki contained some recommended hashtags. I looked and didn't find any, but it would have been nice to have something to start with.</p>\n<p>So after taking a very small sample and studying the analytics, I am standardizing on these tags when syndicating.
